The full-time Accounting course gives you the skills and knowledge you need to get a job in almost any industry, quickly. You might like to start in an accounting firm, government department or perhaps in a large company in bookkeeping, accounts administration, accounts payable or receivable, payroll or financial administration.
You will be assessed continuously throughout the year. Your assingments are marked in the following way:
- Competent - high distinction
- Competent - credit distinction
- Competent
- Not yet competent
Your transcript will have these classifications which is different from a lot of other VET providers who just use the Competent or Not Yet Competent classifications. This grading system is more appealing to employers and universities as they know how well you did, not just that you have the qualification.
If you are looking to continue your studies further, this course can lead to a Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Accounting degree. You will gain 36 credit points towards a 72 point degree which is the equivalent to 1.5 years.
You'll be able to study 1 year and knock 1.5 years off your University degree!
You can gain your 3 year degree in 2.5 years - 1 year at ABA for your Advanced Diploma of Accounting and 1.5 years finishing your Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Accounting at university.
