The 1 year Advanced Diploma in Sports Management gives you the knowledge, skills and practical experience to help plan, promote, organise, manage and deliver events and competitions within the sporting and fitness industries. It covers administration, management, marketing, event management and sponsorship. Below are the units you will cover over the course of your Advanced Diploma:
There are 103 competencies in total for the Advanced Diploma of Sports Management. You will be assessed continuously throughout the year. Your assignments are marked in the following way:
- Competent - high distinction
- Competent - credit distinction
- Competent
- Not yet competent
Your transcript will have these classifications which is different from a lot of other VET providers who just use the Competent or Not Yet Competent classifications. This grading system is more appealing to employers and universities as they know how well you did, not just that you have the qualification.
If you are looking to continue your studies further, this course can lead to a Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Sports Management degree. You will gain 36 credit points towards a 72 point degree which is the equivalent to 1.5 years. We have articulation agreements in place with universities across Australia including the University of Canberra.

You can gain your 3 year degree in 2.5 years - 1 year at ABA for your Advanced Diploma of Sports Management and 1.5 years finishing your Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Commerce of Bachelor of Sports Management at university.
